AEA did not just attack Byrne, they were defending themselves. Byrne’s whole campaign was to attack AEA. In doing so he attacked most of the teachers of the state, and their families! How did he think that this would turn out? I voted Republican for the first time in my life, just to make sure that he did not get into office! He attacked the teachers of the state!

Dr. Bentley / Staff,

Thank you for your encouraging words about employing / re-employing the able Alabamian citizens on the coast and through out the state. (I hope you will achieve and support better efforts at state and local levels, than BP or the Current Administration.)

Your conerns about out-siders (state or otherwise) brings up a question, that I have for you:
Where do you stand about illegal immigration (that I am witnessing around me)?

I have no issues with the majority of immigrants, (as humans, that desire to improve their lives), but, we are unable to take care of our own people! (especially, on top of our burdening economy, debit and resources). I must admit, that I liked Tim James' spin to eliminate the AL. requirement for driver's license examinations in thirteen different languages; otherwise, will we need to speak and post road signs in all 13 languages?

Mr. Bentley, please get a MySpace page. I would add you if you did. I have already requested you at FaceBook. I just want to tell you that I really do respect your integrity and honesty. You definitely have my vote in the run off with Byrne and in November as well. God bless you. It is about time we had a candidate like you.

I am strongly opposed to legalized gambling and recently read that Dr. Bentley supports a vote of the people. Is this true?

Also, my maiden name is Henley. We're from Marshall County. Do you have relatives here?

I am also thrilled about having someone in Montgomery that has a special interest in the people of Alabama. Dr. Bentley is the only person I have heard say "I will not take a salary until Alabama is back to work." Thank God for Dr. Bentley.

The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce meeting regarding Home Owners Insurance on 6/8/10 was interesting but I am not sure there were any conclusions other than agreement that the problem is complex. The "heavies" seem to be the Alabama legislative leaders, the insurance lobbies, and people from northern counties who don't care. Citizens of Mobile and Baldwin counties are the pawns in some power struggle. I am concerned that the only ones talking to the insurance lobbies are the legislative leaders. Assuming the insurance lobbies do indeed care about the professional aspects of insurance companies wanting to help people to the extent financially possible, I don't know why the Insurance Commissioner or his staff do not communicate with insurance lobbies to try and determine what they would like. My assumption is that the insurance lobbies do not want to impoverish the citizens of Mobile and Baldwin county; no one is a winner under that scenario. Therefore, I do like Dr. Bentley's idea of having a special session to deal with the insurance crisis. At the moment, the insurance crisis is overlooked because of the oil catastrophe, but it is no less important.

Robert

I appreciate your commitment to a positive campaign. As I told you at the State House I view you as the modern day Sid McDonald. A stong candidate that the voters just did not know. Congratulations on your finish in the Primary and best of luck to you in the runoff.
